The Correct Feeding and Housing of Your Home Birds

If you want to keep your bird in auspicious conditions you are to pay serious attention to its nourishment. Birds that dwell in people's houses in decorative cages usually belong to granivorous birds. And as a result many people think that such birds are to eat only seeds. But in truth such birds vary their ration each time of the year in natural conditions. Birds like to diversify their feed with different kinds of animal forages, greens, fruits, tree barks and so on. That is why the diversity of feeds will bring your bird robust.

Today one can buy wild bird seed practically anywhere, even on the web. But you are not to feed your bird only with corn during a whole year because it doesn't really correspond to different bird nutrition in nature.

Lots of birds may have the same forage for a long period of time and don't reveal any symptoms of a disease. Scientists observe such diseases as the malfunction of moult, obesity, disorder of the reproductive function etc. All these occasions are conditional on incorrect feeding of birds. Vitamins and proteins are also needed for the birds' organism because without them different infectious illnesses can appear.

So the basis of a bird's ration contains grain mixtures. It is highly important for birds that the blend should include various sorts of grains (wheat, oats, millet, maize etc) and seeds (canary seed, herbage seeds and lettuce's seeds). Also you may attach there different oil-yielding crops such as sunflower seeds, poppy seeds, hemp seeds and various nuts. But these kinds of crops should be added in a small amount because overuse of oil-yielding seeds provokes overweight.
